Job Description

Sr. EMC Engineer, with little assistance,  will design the electro-magnetic compatibility portion of products.

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Job duties: -
- Assist in establishing EMC design criteria to meet customer requirements.
- Design EMC portion of unit per design specification or per sales design data or per individual customer specification.
- Recommend, maintain, and utilize EMC based software to aid in design of EMC portion of products.
- Coordinate activities of printed circuit board designers.
- Supervise other engineers and technicians assigned to a particular job or project prototype, having design reviews as necessary.

- Recommend and operate EMC lab equipment required for in house compliance testing. - Record design and test data.
- Release to Mechanical Engineering section when design has been confirmed, with approved schematics and stress information.
- Use standard parts when possible and supply stress information on all components in design.
- Write theory of operation
- Verify correctness of final schematics, printed circuit boards and bill of material.
- Assist Technical Writer in writing manual and sales bulletin on products designed.
- Estimate material and engineering effort required on jobs being quoted.
- Keep current engineering estimate sheets and work schedules.
- Generate quotes in response to sales/marketing inputs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements:
- Travel as required for training, support of project tasks, product issues, or other design or job related needs.


Education/Training:
- BSEE or equivalent.

Experience:
- Six years electrical design experience in the area of EMC.
- Embedded hardware design experience
