Job Description
Job Summary:
The quality assurance supervisor plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products.
  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Assists the Quality Manager in developing and maintaining the ISO9001 procedures and work instructions.
  • Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility. 
  • Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
  • Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Responsible for directing and supervising a group of employees involved in inspection and quality control procedures with regard to purchased material, in-process material and finished products to assure that quality control standards are achieved.
  • Plan and assign work of subordinates.
  • Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, make suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
  • Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices.
  • Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records.
  • Investigate and determine cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures.
Education & Experience Required
  • Associates degree or full engineering degree preferred and/or equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position. 
  • 3 - 5 years supervisory experience in quality assurance and auditing in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Certified Quality Technician, Certified Quality Auditor and Certified Quality Engineer preferred.  ASQ certification
  • Knowledge of ISO9001:  2015 standards and guidelines.
3-5 years’ experience in quality audits.
